INTEKON
INTEKON
software provides message-based real time data
communication among diverse applications and systems in a manufacturing
enterprise network. INTEKON provides interfaces for popular process control,
laboratory, and business information systems and comprehensive integration
software for distributed MIKON/Server systems. INTEKON/WebPort and /WebQuery
software link the 3-tier environment to Intranet and Internet environments.
Features
- Process-oriented
middleware adapts to the workflow.
- Configurable
message content using a windows-based graphical tool (XCM).
- Flexible:
data can be filtered and transformed before being distributed to any
number of applications.
- Event-drive:
message triggers based on time, process events, or changes in data values.
- Real time
data transfers don't wait for batch processing.
Product
Components
INTEKON/Server is the hub of every INTEKON installation. It is
a messaging database application responsible for the receipt, filtering,
transformation, and distribution of all messages. Message processing is
performed according to a configuration database which is maintained by
INTEKON/XCM, a Windows-based configuration tool. INTEKON/Server includes
XPM, a performance monitor that collects statistics and performs general
housekeeping on the database.
INTEKON/CIOs are Client Input-Output (CIO) programs that connect
INTEKON/Server to the application systems which need to be interfaced.
"Off the shelf" CIOs are available for popular process information, laboratory,
and business (ERP) systems (see
list of INTEKON interfaces).
"Custom" CIOs may be developed for legacy systems and custom
applications.
INTEKON/Dataport
is a PC-based data acquisition environment that processes data from
external devices (files or data streams) and prepares the data for processing
by INTEKON.
INTEKON/WebPort is software for the automatic generation of HTML
presentations of production data.
INTEKON/WebQuery is software for specifying and executing web-based
queries against a production database.
